We offer our services to clients large and small including: County and District councils, water boards and other public services, developers, the Highways Agency, private estates and landowners.

Most of our projects are based within the southwest, including Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, Wiltshire and Dorset; but we also operate throughout the UK.
Recent Projects include:

Private Developments - Ecological advice, surveys, licence applications and mitigation works for private clients seeking planning permission.

Wessex Water - Surveys, reports, licences and mitigation for protected species on pipeline schemes including newts, dormice and reptiles.

Highways Agency/ Accord MP - Dormouse monitoring, Biodiversity Action Plans, otter, badger and reptile surveys. Protected species licences and mitigation works during highways improvement and maintenance works.

Architects - Ecological appraisal and Phase 1 Habitat surveys for land-based projects and developments.

Private landowner - Ecological assessment, EIA, Great crested newt and bat surveys for barn conversions and farm habitat enhancements.

Private Fish Farm - Great crested newt survey, DEFRA licence application and mitigation works including newt translocation, the creation of five new ponds, woodland management and production of a long-term management plan.

Paddington Farm Trust - Habitat management of 43 acres of certified organic land including pasture, broadleaf woodland, orchards, hedgerows and ponds.

Prior to founding Gould Ecology, Nicky worked as a Senior Ecologist for Bullen Consultants Ltd (now Faber Maunsell) and Parsons Brinckerhoff Ltd.
She managed the provision of full ecological services and large scale Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for a wide range of projects including Highways Agency (HA) schemes and other developments including housing, airports, wind farms and the Liverpool ‘MerseyTram’.
